Samantha Smithson-Biggs to lead MS Amlin Operational Transformation team

Lloyd’s global insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin has announced the appointment of Samantha Smithson-Biggs as Head of Operational Transformation.

In her new role she will help MS Amlin to further improve its technology and services, to ensure the company continues to deliver for brokers and clients.

Smithson-Biggs is joining the firm following three years as Chief Operating Officer at Digital Futures, a UK start up that trains and deploys individuals from underrepresented backgrounds into a career in technology.

Prior to that, the executive worked in financial services, including JP Morgan, RBS and Aviva where she led major transformational programmes.

Commenting on her appointment, Smithson-Bigg said: “I am absolutely delighted to join this amazing business, and excited for the journey ahead!”

MS Amlin has also recently hired Catherine Healy from HDI Global Specialty as Head of Property & Crisis Management Claims.

Based in London, she manages and oversees claims for commercial property, property binders, transportation and crisis management.

Last month, the re/insurer appointed Sam Geddes as Head of Reinsurance. He has been tasked with leading MS Amlin’s extensive reinsurance teams.
